SNT Motorsports Development announced today that Chris Cook is set to race in the NASCAR Pro Series West Race at Sonoma Raceway on June 22 in the SNT Motorsports Chevrolet.
“We’ve been looking for an opportunity to run Chris in an SNT car at the NASCAR level”, remarked team owner Steve Tarpley. “It’s a natural extension of our coaching program, both at Bondurant, and here at Sonoma Raceway.”
Cook is widely recognized as a top road racer and coach. A Northern California native, he was raised in St. Helena, just a few miles up the road from Sonoma Raceway where his motorsports career started as a Bondurant instructor.
“We do a lot of coaching work with both current and aspiring K&N drivers,” commented Cook.“ This race gives us an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of SNT’s stock car racing team, which are now end-to-end. We offer race car development and testing, all levels of coaching, and race preparation. In addition, we have an experienced crew led by NASCAR licensed crew chief Rob Dixon. I’m thrilled to be competing with this team at Sonoma, where Bob Bondurant gave me my first coaching job.”
SNT recently expanded its operations in Northern California, adding shop space at Sonoma Raceway to support racing and coaching efforts there.
